Bingo Calls

Playing bingo can be a fun and sometimes thrilling game, especially when you learn the bingo calls. While some people associate the game with older people sitting around at a church function, more and more younger people are beginning to play the game as well. It is simple to understand and offers just the right amount of tension that draws a lot of people to it. It is also fun because players get to participate by calling back the bingo number calls. These bingo calls are sayings which are associated with each number which can be drawn from one to ninety. Some of the sayings will rhyme with the number, while others will be a complete saying which is somehow associated with it. In addition, there may be some bingo calls which are more popular on one side of the pond than the other.

Many of the bingo calls are based in some sort of fact that relates to the number itself. In addition, some number calls are because the number resembles something in real life. One example of this is the call which is associated with the number two. One of the bingo number calls is one little duck. This is because the shape of the number looks something like a swan. Another example is the number three which has a call of one little flea and is because when you write the number out, it looks like a flea. The number seven is also similar in that it has a call of one little crutch because the number looks like a crutch one would use when they have a leg injury.

Bingo Number Calls

Some of the bingo number calls originate in England while others originate in America. As a result, players in one country or another may be more familiar with some sayings than others. For example, the number nine has a bingo number call referring to doctor’s orders. This is because there was a pill known as Number Nine in England. This pill was actually a laxative which was given out by Army doctors.

Number seventeen actually has a bingo call based on popular music. One call for seventeen is dancing queen which is a reference to the popular ABBA song by the same name.
Even other names will have references to the Bible. For example, one number call for the number twenty-three is Lord’s My Shepherd. This is a direct reference to the 23rd Psalm.

Other number calls have to do with money or how much something is going to cost or has cost in the past. For example, bed and breakfast is associated with the number twenty-six. This is because it has traditionally cost two shillings sixpence for a night’s lodging. When you break it down, it stands for two and six. In addition, twenty-six has another call of half a crown. This is equivalent to 2’6d or two and six. In addition, seventy-six has a bingo number call of seven ‘n six was she worth it. This is due to the price of a marriage license which has been seven shillings and six pence.

There are plenty of other number calls and getting familiar with all of them might take a little bit of time. However, as you continue to play the game, these bingo calls will soon become second nature and even when you hear a number in another setting, you will immediately think of your bingo game.
